Lovely Mahogany Mantel Clock By Hamilton & Inches Edinburgh Chiming. This lovely mantel clock has a mahogany case with a stepped top leading to mouldings with a patterned underneath. The body of the case is then square leading to a further moulding, a belled out section, then a final moulding. The case is then finished by four lovely shaped wooden feet. There are some marks to the case commensurate with age as well as a small, blank, brass plaque to the front. The dial is then silvered and set out in black Roman numerals marking the hours with a then ring marking the minutes to the outside. The dial then has engraving to the corners as well as being signed by the maker “Hamilton & Inches Edinburgh” to the centre. The dial is then finished by two lovely shaped hands as well as a protective bevelled glass set into the door, opened via a push button to the side. The movement is then accessed and wound from the back. It ticks away as it should and chimes the number of hours on the hour as well as once on the half past via a gong. Comes complete with its winding key. It measures approximately: - 9.5” / 24cm Tall. - 6.25” / 16cm Wide. - 5” / 12.75cm Deep.
