Item Details Fine Mahogany Victorian French Mantel Clock A fine and large antique Victorian French mahogany mantel clock dating to the 19th century circa 1870. The white enamel dial with hand painted Roman numerals and minute marks is protected a thick bevelled glass door with an ormolu rim. The clock drum surrounded by profusely carved floral patters, flanked by two Corinthian columns and raised on four ormolu bun feet. The original twin train eight day movement is present, striking the hours and half hours on a gong and is regulated. The pendulum and winding key are present. The mechanism is stamped by one of the most renowned clock manufacturers of the 19th century, Samuel Marti. Approximate dimensions: 31 cm high x 26 cm wide Total approximate weight: 3411 Grams Condition: Overall, the clock is in good condition, with some signs of age and usage. Condition: Overall, the clock is in good condition. The clock has a clean movement and has recently been serviced. The ormolu is in good condition and retains a good colour and the inlay is all in tact.
