Set Of 13 South African Silver Topped Animal Porcupine Quills Patrick Mavros?
This lovely set of 13 South African porcupine quills are each topped with an individual piece of silver. Each quill is topped with the following:
1- A spoon embossed with a face.
2- A Woman stirring a pot.
3- A crocodile.
4- A man drinking water.
5- A hippo.
6- A Zebra.
7- A woman carrying a jug on her head.
8- A giraffe.
9- A warthog.
10 and 11- are both African maps with tribal drawings.
12- A man carrying a sack.
13- A leopard.
Each small piece of silver is cast in wonderful detail for its size and they are a truly beautiful set. The two small map shaped pieces are also stamped “SILVER” to the back due to then having flat surfaces for hallmarking. They seem to be in the style or by Patrick Mavros although I can’t find a stamp with his name.
They measures between 7.5” / 19cm and 9” / 23cm Long.
