ABOUT THIS ITEM
Description
ITEM DESCRIPTION
This is a nice antique Ophthalmoscope, an optometrist's instrument for looking into the eyes. It has a removeable screw-in celluloid plastic handle on a moveable mirror to bounce light into the eye. It also has a changeable lens for different focal lengths for looking deeper into the eye. Very clever.
The instrument itself doesn't have any maker's marks on it but it is in its original bespoke made case which has a label from Millikin & Lawley, London inside. Please see close-up photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition for yourself.Condition report: Normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs etc.
It has been used.
The case does have some damage to the exterior and some wear on the blue velvet interior lining.
The little case measures approx. 85mm x 60mm x 30mm.
